Hello,i am a 33weeks pregnant woman. i got my blood test done and found that my hemoglobin level is low. now as i do not have much time left as per the due date what effective measures should i take to increase my hemoglobin level within 2 weeks. thanks,
considering your gestation of 33 weeks , and low hemoglobin ( which you havent mentioned the value), i suggest parenteral iron therapy for you which has to be instituted under medical supervision. total dose of iron required can be calculated by hemoglobin deficit and you can be given iron sucrose injection diluted in 200ml of normal saline or 5% DNS @ 15 drops per min , max dose of 200mg per day over 4-6 hrs daily . this can be instituted after performing a sensitivity test over skin under supervision of physician/gynae. this should replenish your stores and deficit at a faster rate. please consult your obstetrician for the option.regards
