Suggest Treatment To Produce Eggs With Healthy Follicles

My husband & I are attempting natural cycle IVF treatments. Today concluded our very first attempt due to a cancelled cycle.

My only reason for not being able to conceive is due to a tubal ligation i had 9 years ago after 3 successful pregnancies. Other than that things are in good shape on my husbands part & mine. Over the last 2 weeks, my dr. has monitored my system thru bloodwork & daily sonograms. A very healthy looking follicle was found in the left ovary & since my hormones reached the desired levels, we did the aspiration today (day 16). However, after 9 aspirations, nothing was found & according to my dr. it was because my body just didn't produce an egg this month. There were no signs whatsoever that we would be encountering any sort of problem. Everything looked "perfect" up to this point, seemed very promising & my medical team seemed to have very high hopes of success. I do have very regular menstrual cycles ranging from 29-31 days. However, after doing some research, i'm finding 3 things that i experience which may not be so "normal". First, i have always assumed my ovulation occurs about a week prior to day 1 of my period because around that time i generally experience a brief mild, cramping pain in either the left or right side where the ovaries are. I havent experienced that yet during this cycle & i am on day 16. Second, my basal temperature is 97.5 at resting which seems to be my norm although I admit that I haven't been checking it regularly. Third, I have learned that the cervical mucus will change in appearance during ovulation as well causing it to have a shiny, slippery clearer appearance similar to egg whites. As of today, mine doesn't look much like that. It is closer to a cloudy, whitish color & a not what I'd classify as thin/slippery. I notice that "egg white" kind of consistency around 7 to 10 days prior to day 1 of my period. I am wondering if its possible that, despite the bloodwork results, its possible that my dr. attempted to retrieve too early causing no egg to be found? If not, what could cause this & what can I do, if anything, to encourage production of an actual egg within the seemingly healthy looking follicles I am already producing?
