Hello,

You are about 10 kgs overweight. But if you follow the suggestions I make you can gradually reduce your weight in a healthy way. First and foremost eat only wholesome healthy food consisting of complex carbohydrates, pulses and proteins depending on whether you are veg or non veg.Saturated fats should not be more than 7%. Say goodbye to fast foods and drinks. Try to reduce the quantity of food by about 20%. Eat slowly taking at least 30 minutes to finish your meal because it takes about 20 minutes for the satiety center in your brain to know that you have eaten. So never refill your plate before 20 minutes. Don't snack in between.
Next comes exercise. If you stay or work in a multi storied building, climbing stairs is one of the most calorie burning exercise. Try to incorporate exercise into your daily life activities. Park your car as far as possible from your place and walk. Walk to nearby places. If you watch TV, I recommend a cross trainer to be placed in front of it and make it a point to watch TV only while exercising on it. It is easy. Many of my patients and I myself do it successfully.
Medicines are not advisable. Certain diets like GM diet can be used for a quick but short lived weight loss. Avoid yoyoing of weight i.e. frequent loss gain cycles. It is not healthy.
If you have further queries, I shall be happy to answer.
Wish you success.
