Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... I felt something annoying in my on Monday. It felt like a piece of hair or some small particle. After a day or two of rubbing my eye and no relief, I finally stood in front of the mirror (on Wednesday) and examined my eye to find a transparent jelly like glob on my right eyeball. I tried to move and pull it out and was startled when it, didn't move, but instead caused some discomfort. I went to the opthamoligist at USC - Doheny Eye Center on Thursday and was informed that it was "just a cyst" that forms like any other cyst on the body (what an insensitive vague response). No options were given. I have been on the internet and found out the white of the eye is called the sclera, I also found out that some doctors do remove these type of cyst. Shall I consult another doctor for a second opinion? Any suggestions. Thanks,
Cyst if not infected usually doesn't cause any problem. The severity of discomfort or foreign body sensation depends on size and location of cyst. You can try putting genteal gel e.d. 3 times per day. If not relieved removal of cyst can be planned by opthalmic surgeon
