Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mom is 53 years old. She was diagnosed with diabetic on 2015 August. Her very first reading was 400 on fasting then on medication in three days it dropped by 200. Same year due my dads demise and press her reading again went to 400. Now she intakes GYCOMET GP1 twice a day. Today April 3rd on casual home reading its 133 on fasting and 120 after breakfast. Is this a normal level or high ?? How can we keep her level stabilized??
Hello, Glucose levels will always fluctuate to some extent depending upon what she is eating but if it is mostly under 150 then she should be okay. Another thing that needs to be followed is her Hemoglobin A1c. This is a measure of glucose control over the last three months and should be less than 7. This needs to be measured routinely at her doctor's office. Regards
