Hi there,
Co codamol tablet, simply called paracetamol is a commonly prescribed medicine for any bodily pain or problems like uneasiness of body or fever.
I would like to know the reason for which it was first prescribed to you by your doctor. A continuous and long term prescription of this medicine is done for only selective medical disorders (mostly connective tissue disorders) only.
I would like to tell you that taking a larger dose of this medicine does not directly help with sleep. It only gives a sense of well being and relaxes your body.
Taking heavy doses of paracetamol for long duration is hazardous to your body, especially liver and kidney functions. I suggest you to start over with your history of complaints and find out the root cause for your tiredness or sleeplessness, with the help of a Physician in your vicinity.
An investigation of blood profile plus renal and liver function tests to rule out any possible underlying problems, may be helpful too.
I recommend a gradual tapering off of the medication and consulting your doctor for catering to your bodily complaints.

I hope this addresses your concern. Happy to help if any more questions.
