I ve had the hiccups 3 times today. Drinking water fast stops it, but I m very tired and sleepy and it s 12:00 PM. I don t want to drink much water right now so I won t have to make a trip to the bathroom. Is there an other way to stop it without drinking water before bed ???

Short bouts of hiccups do not require any treatment as such. However persistent hiccups may require treatment depending upon the cause if identified. It is treated by many types of medicines like antidepressants, tranquilisers, anti emetics like metoclopramide and related drugs, antispasmodics, etc.etc and even surgery sometimes. You may try sleeping with raised head end of your bed (2-3 inches), sleeping at least half hour after meals.
