Hi, My wife is pregnant with 23 wks..She is having lowlying placenta & Minimal RPH of 2.8 *1.0 Cms..Our doctor has told her to take complete bedrest and put her on Naturogest ..Can you please help us, how complicated is this situation..Any medical treatments available..Thanks & regards, Bhim
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Low lying placenta and small retroplacental hematoma can lead to bleeding in pregnancy. Your wife should take precautions like restricted physical activity, avoiding intercourse, avoiding heavy work. Complete bed rest is not mandatory. Naturagest is progesterone which supports the pregnancy by making uterine environment more favourable for foetus and some doctors give it in retroplacental hematoma. It is completely safe for the fetus and mother. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
