Suggest Treatments For Recurrent UTI And Itching In Hands

My wife is suffering from reccuring UTI since last 2 years. Medicines are being prescribed by doctor after carrying out lot of tests including urine culture & sensitivity. on taking the madicine she is ok for certain period and then again re-appear. Presently she is taking MARTIFUR 100 twice a day since last 11 days. Today she is suffering from itching in hands, feet, head, face etc. Also she pain in chest while eating or drinking. Kindly advice.

Hi,

1. To prevent recurrent UTI, one must be completely hydrated all the time. Ask your wife to take lots of fluids (say 3-4 litres) in a day.
2. She can change the medicine to cefuroxime instead of martifur.
3. Take citralka syrup.
4. All these could be due to the side effects of the drug she is taking.
