Suggest Ways To Detox From Alcohol

Hello Doctor, i have a doubt about addiction of alcohol(Drinks). One of my friend is fully addicted to drinks, every day he is drinking, one of my neighbour told about addiction killer tablet, i tried that tablet, like mix that tablet in my friend food. But he find the difference, because it smell like tablet and bitter. So is there any solution to kill the addiction?

Alcohol addiction is a mental as well as physical addiction. It is a gradual process that happens because of the changes in the brain chemical (eg. Dopamine and gamma amino-butyric acid) which leads to regular alcohol consumption.
The most important factor that helps in the success of alcohol addiction treatment is willingness of an alcoholic.
I will advise you to first motivate your friend towards a healthy and sober life.
To control the craving for alcohol:-
•Intake of grapes helps, as it contain the pure form of alcohol, so it will mask the craving for alcohol.
•Supplements such as Vitamin C, vitamin B complex, magnesium, selenium, zinc.
•Avoid consumption of caffeine, sugar, nicotine etc to avoid the urge for alcohol.

If lifestyle changes fail to help, you should consult with a doctor.
