Hello

Although it is difficult to generalize what makes the mother-daughter bond stronger, you can begin by making up for the time you spent away from her. A daughter usually looks to find her confidante in her mother; hence, you can encourage her to talk about her school, friends, favorite candy, the games she loves, favorite color, so on and so forth. You can try and plan your visits with her as per her wishes -say, an ice-cream place, play ground, etc; that way you can ensure that she is in high spirits and thus looks forward to visiting you more and more often. You could get her a small something once in a while (handmade cards, or charms), something that she can showoff claiming her mum gifted her. No matter how old, kids love to be surprised and pampered, provided you take time out to get to know her taste.

A word of caution though, do not go out of your way trying to please her. If you require to tell her off for something, do not hesitate for the fear of displeasing her. You have to keep an attitude that is maternally right; lest she might not take it too well when you do tell her off for something in future because she might have gotten used to getting her way from you.

I hope this was helpful, and I am sure you will be an awesome mother that you already are, and in no time you will be bonding more than you ever imagined. Good luck.

Warm regards
Dr. Rashmi
