Hello,
Continue taking the medicine prescribed by your treating doctor. Sensation of not being able to empty the bladder fully is due to prostate swelling,
prostatitis, infection, urethritis, urethral strictures and bladder stones. Report your symptoms to your treating doctor or a
urologist so that you can be clinically examined.
You will be treated with
alpha blocker medications, like Rapaflo to improve urine flow. If symptoms do not get better than the treating doctor will consider minimal invasive surgery to help widen the prostatic urethra, allowing urine to flow more easily.
It should improve by minimal invasive surgery, if not, then the surgeon can recommend surgery to unblock
urethral obstruction from an
enlarged prostate. Take adequate quantity of water and fluids to stay comfortable.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
