Suggest Ways To Wean Off Fentanyl Patch And Dilaudid
I have been on the fentanyl patch and dilaudid for years. 75MCG/HRR down to 50. My Pain Physician implanted a neuro-stimulator in my back for lower back and leg pain. We decided to go down to 25 and get rid of the dilaudid. She prescribed Percocet for break through. I feel the pain at this point is not the issue.. I get serious withdrawals, shakes, tremors, not being able to sleep. Any suggestions? I have an appointment with my Dr. in about 2 weeks. I seriously want off the patch.
You probably need to wean down more slowly from all the narcotics you've been taking. Your tolerance is very high, and it sounds like dropping the patch from 75 to 25 and eliminating the Dilaudid entirely was too big a change all at once That is why you are having withdrawal symptoms. I know you want to get off the patch, but if you want to avoid the withdrawals, you will need to go down more slowly. The other option is to go through the withdrawals and wait them out if you want to get off the patch quickly. Talk to your pain specialist about rapid detox and other ways to get off those meds without having so many problems. Hope this helps.
