Hi... I have been taking Thyronom now for many years. My tag levels are stable and weight always stays 67kgs. It s has been a year I ham now having homeopathy. I want to reduce my dose gradually off thronom and continue with homeopathy. I also have candida . And have slow metabolism. Please help
Hi. I would suggest you not to wean off thyronorm. You are having stable thyroid hormone levels because of the thyronorm. Any change in the medications dose should be made based on thyroid levels in blood. If you are stopping thyronorm, then there is every chance that you can be hypothyroid again and symptoms will appear. With regard to homeopathy, what I can say is that they never administer any active ingredient. The efficacy of homeopathic interventions has not been proved in any well controlled randomised trials and it has been banned in the country of its origin. So please decide after taking into considerations all of the above points. Candida infections can be treated based on severity and site. Topical medications like clotrimazole cream or oral fluconazole can be used. Consult a dermatologist for candida infection. Also maintain good personal hygiene.
