Suggest What To Do For Burning Nose Holes Due To Cocaine Usage
I have been secretly using/abusing cocaine daily for the past 5 months my nose is extremely sore\burning.I can see that the skin has all gone and The hole is now a lot bigger than the right. Im worried that I've done some serious damage to it but im to embarrassed to go to my doctor. Will it repair naturally in time if I stop now? I really appreciate your help
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
I understand that you are worried about your nasal problems. One of the most common and distressing side effects of cocaine abuse (snorting) is nasal mucosal irritation and sometimes even nasal septal perforation.
From the description of your symptoms, it appears that you are having a perforation - which seems to be enlarging. This is indeed a serious problem and needs medical attention. It is unlikely to heal by itself and will require a proper evaluation and further treatment. So, please consult an ENT doctor at the earliest.
Wish you all the best.
Regards, Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar Consultant Psychiatrist
