Suggest Whether Surgery Required Or Any Other Treatment For Torn Meatus Or Penis

I torn my meatus or penis opening downward a few months ago. It has not healed. It is quite visible where the natural whole is and where the new tear is, as the tear will often sit as if it were not there, however it will also open up at times and is visible when erect. It goes about 50% down farther than the natural opening. When I first noticed it, I stopped everything. Since then, it seems to have stopped tearing, but I noticed it did look slightly larger. The tip of my penis has been much more sensitive as of lately and is often getting red or swollen even. I am 18, 5 9 and 195 lbs. It doesn t effect my ability to have sex or pee, but it is uncomfortable, I feel as if it is weaker, and I am worried it will only get worse. I made a urologist appointment for the 28, and haven t masturbated in close to a week. I ve read online that they often heal, however if there is not open skin on either side, which I don t believe there is as this happened back in like April, then surgery may be necessary. Does anyone know any possible treatments for this? I ve read that surgery may be necessary. If there is no other way to treat this (possibly like burning the skin together or maybe using some type of medical glue), what would a surgery consist of? And how much would it cost. Also, if there is any other advice you can offer given my situation, it would be helpful Thanks!

Hello,

Manage your hygiene well. Abstain from sexual activities of any kind. Allow yourself to time heal with ample amount of time. You can apply Soframycin ointment on the area affected for a soothing effect & to prevent infection. Applying a thin layer of corticosteroid ointment for 5-7 days on the affected area will help it heal. Wear loose fitting soft cotton clothes. Make sure it does not rub against the clothes or will hurt.

It may relieve symptoms for a short duration, however, there are chances of it causing the formation of more scars. The new scars may make the meatus narrower and cause worse symptoms. Do not touch or pick the scars. Get clinically examined by a Urologist to rule out urinary stricture or any other pathology. Do not hesitate to get examined, tears and injuries are common. Urinary strictures or obstructions. cause weak or slow urine stream.

Your Urologist will tell you do STD test if sexually active, urinalysis (R/E & C/S) or any other required investigation. The urethra/meatus is repaired surgically if required only after tear/ injuries have healed or after 8 to 12 weeks (when inflammation has resolved). Meatotomy is done to fix the stenosis and hence discomfort. Get examined and evaluated. Neglect may cause complications that may be life threatening. Get treated in time.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
