Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm a 23 year old person weighing 56 kg, height 175 cm. I also play football on weekends in the morning only and my role includes quite running, some people told me that it is the reason of my low weight. I thought of joining gym but couldn't because of my job timings. My current daily diet is like this... Breakfast- 4Chappatis + Vegetables + Tea. Lunch- 5-6Chappatis + Vegetables. Dinner- 5-6Chappatis/Rice + Pulses + 1glass of milk.
What would you suggest me to add in my intake to gain weight? Whether I should take protein supplements or not? If yes, which would you like to prescribed?
Hi Thanks for your query I can feel your concern Do not indulge in weight gaining progrmmes , healthy life style is enough Have a proper clinical examination Hope it helps Regards Dr imran
hello...56 kg is low for a person who is 175cm, your basic 3 meals seem fine to me , but i want you to add in a couple more small meals before lunch and before dinner like a banana or two , maybe some tofu or youghurt even. And i wud suggest you to join a gym intead of playing football , because football is a lot of cardio and im not saying cardio is bad, but too much of it well then you lose muscle as well , try hitting the gym 3 times a week , and follow the diet everyday for atleast 21 days you should see some results
