Swelling Above Knee Cap, Difficulty In Bending Knee And Walking After Falling Down. How To Overcome This Problem?

Hello. I tripped and fell on my left knee 4 weeks ago, pretty hard. Cement. I had abrasions below the cap, otherwise, my leg felt fine. About 3 days ago, the swelling began, with pain in the back of my knee, and a lot of swelling just above the cap. Now, I can hardly bend the knee, and walk with a decided limp. Not much pain, though.

Hi,
You have pain & swelling at back of knee with swelling ++just above the knee cap.
You may have superficial trauma to knee,ligmental sprain/tear, problem with joint itself.
Simpler injury may subside with rest elastic bandage, Ibuprofen paracetamol tablets,calcium & vitamin D supplement. But---.
Knee being a weight bearing joint, needs an early atteintion & best care. So it's worthwhile to get your X ray/MRI of knee done& know the severity of injury.To bet it proper treatment under expert's advice.

The swelling on the knee and difficulty in walking seems to be due to an injury to the internal structures of the knee like ligaments or meniscus. This needs a direct examination for diagnosis.
