Swelling And Pain On Left Side Of Face Next To Ear Down The Neck. ENT Scope Of Throat Normal. What Could This Be?

have had swelling and a lot of pain on left side of face and jaw next to ear and down into neck.No doctor has been able to identify the cause. This has been going on for about 4 years.Had an ENT scope my throat and it was clear. It flares up and gets swollen and very painful ,then it goes down after a few days, but it always feels tender and painful. It doesn't hurt to chew, and I have enough saliva,I actually drool in my sleep.I can't find any answers from anyone.I went to my MD,and an ENT.I really want to find out what this is.

Hi,
I have gone through your query.
Before reaching on the exact diagnosis, it is absolute necessary to examine you directly or please send your image.
By going through your description, you may be suffering from the inflammatory swelling of the salivary gland most probably submandibular gland.
For exclusion of the other disease or to reach the near diagnosis you may go for----
1. USG of the cervical swelling.
2. Serum Amylase level and
3. If necessary FNAC of the cervical swelling.

Wish you good health
