Swelling In Hand, Unable To Bend Middle Finger. History Of Hitting Ring Finger With Axe. Possible Broken Medacarples?

Hello, hit my right ring finger with and axe and thought it was fine little skin removed. Did this sunday. Last night my hand swelled up and now i cant bend my middle finger, the pain goes through the hand. I cant hold anything or touch it I can make the finger go straight. Wondering if one of the medacarples could be broken, should i complain to a gp?

Hello,
There are all the chances of fracture in the metacarpal bone and hence you should consult your GP and get the part X-rayed.
Till then don't try to lift anything with this hand and start taking anti inflammatory like ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day.
Thanks
