Swelling, Itch And Numbness After A Deep Cut Above The Eyebrow For 2 Months.

I received a deep cut above my left eyebrow 2months ago. The area is still swelling, has a deep itch and is numb to the touch. 2 stitches had been accidentally left in and the area started to burn. They were removed but I m still having the above described problem 2 months later.

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Swelling, itching and numbness could be because the scar is hypertrophic or it could be a sign of developing Keloid in the scar.

I would advice that you use a silicone based gel sheet dressing or can also apply a silicone/polysiloxane gel twice daily at the site of scar for 3-4 months.

An oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine once daily can be taken once daily to help control the itch.

take care
regards
