Switched From Morphine Sulphate To Opana ER. Does Opana Have Naltrexone In It?

My Doctor just switched me to Opana ER because I hated the sick feeling of the Morphine Sulphate and the Patches, had allergic problems with nearly all else. My worry is, I have been reading, hopefully wrong, that this "new", all new to me, Opana ER has Naltrexone in it. Please tell me that is not true. I don't appreciate drug companies not having this type of information on their sites regarding their own medications. But many patients keep speaking about this. I pick mine up tomorrow, too late to reach Doc, will ask Pharm. but I don't like this idea since I have a pretty, okay, very, sensitive stomach and it seems like an issue being danced around to prevent or stop addicts. Fine. I still want to know what I am putting in my body. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
OPANA ER and NALTREXONE are different salts.
OPANA ER has OXYMORPHONE as its salt. It  is a powerful semi-synthetic opioid analgesic and  was designed to have less incidence of side effects than morphine and heroin.
While NALTREXONE is an opioid receptor antagonist used primarily in the management of alcohol dependence and opioid dependence.
I hope it is clear to you now.
Thanks
