Switched From Cipro To Midol, Got Nausea, Vomiting, Clenching In Muscles And Tremors. Should I Inform The Doctor?
I am on day two of a round of cipro and started my period so took midol yesterday. I took the midol about an hour after the cipro, and immediately became nauseous and threw up. I was fine after that, spaced things out in the evening and only took 1 pill of the midol. While I wasn t nauseous I became very jittery and only slept 1 hour last night. I woke up with very tight muscles, with occasional random clenching of muscles and tremors. I will not take the midol again but should I contact my doctor about switch antibotics? I am very sensitive to side effects in general and I am worried it is causing anxiety and sleeplessness . I feel quite wired. Thanks,
Hi,
Ciprofloxacin has interactions with acetaminophen contained in Midol and it can cause seizures and respiratory depression. You should contact your doctor and report the symptoms. Though individual drug may not affect your system, the combination could be troublesome. Please get further instructions from your doctor. Good luck.
