Swollen Feeling Above Left Ear With Pain In Scalp. Can Congestion Be Related To Mild Plague In Carotid Artery?
I have a swollen feeling above my left ear...can t tell if it s really swollen or not... at times sensitive to the touch...just started about an hour ago. I am congested. But for weeks have been having strange pains on my scalp, like my hair hurts. Just had a Lifeline screening...mild plaque in my carotid artery on the right side, no buildup to speak up on the left. Could this be tied to my congestion? Sitting here I can imagine I feel the same thing on the right side only not to the same extent.
Theoretically anything is possible, even a small plaque in the artery can cause great problems in the areas which it supplies. But practically this is very rare and you seem more tense and thus symptomatic because of the report.
Just relax and if your pain or congestion does not get better in a couple of days and if you are feeling unwell then just consult an ENT to be on the safe side.
