Swollen Left Thumb, Hypersensitive. Remedy?

My left thumb has been swollen and hypersensitive for a couple months now. I have full range and mobility of the thumb without pain while moving it, although if it taps something it hurts something bad. The thumb has swollen to almost twice the size of my right thumb and I don't know what it could be. Also I cannot afford a doctors visit to check it so anything informative would be most appreciated

Hi.Thumb swelling can be caused by many different factors. It may be caused by a preexisting disorder, such as arthritis, tendonitis, or bursitis, or by injury from trauma, repeated use, or an insect that you can't even see (or bites)/animal bite, skin infection/infection of the nail bed. Most thumb injuries are mild and heal on their own, but if symptoms are severe, a medical professional may be needed to treat the swelling.Hope this helps.Take care.
