Swollen Leg And Foot, Difficulty In Urinating, Gaining Weight. Prescribed Water Pills. Any Ideas?
Hello, my husband's left leg and foot are very swollen, he had trouble urinating and he has put on about 12 pounds but he hasn't eaten, he feels full all the time. His doctor gave him some water pills about a week ago but he still hasn't gone down in his weight or has the swollen leg and foot. Can you give me an idea what is going on?
Dear friend Thanks for your query to Healthcare Magic
I read your concern and it seems that edema of left leg and foot is due to improper circulation of blood and stagnation of fluids in dependent areas. I would suggest you to consult urologist to know the cause of decreased urine output ( can be due to Kidney infection or damage to organ ) . If Ultrasonogram of kidney result shows normal study then should know whether he has shortness in breath and Echo study shows heart pumping capacity which can make diagnosis at earliest and can have good prognosis from disease .
In short : Usg Abdomen and Echo will help in treating and for improving health as like before.
Hope this information is useful, please feel free to ask if you have any queries. Regards Dr. J.Kingson John David
