my friend has a cut on her head that will not go away. she has swollen lymph nodes. she is very upset because her doctor removed the wound and sent it out to be tesed. Her doc put her on a heavy antibiotic , and said it was probably and infection but wanted to rule out skin cancer . Her dad is currently in hospice for melanoma .

Hello, welcome to HCM,
Look, whenever there is an infection, the lymph nodes are swelled up.
So, infected cut on the scalp can easily leads to swelling of the lymph node.
But the neoplastic character of the wound cannot be commented without clinical examination and histological examination.
So, wait for the biopsy report.
