Swollen, Painful Bump On Top Of Knuckle. History Of Cutting Open Finger Knuckle, Took Tetanus Shot. Will This Heal?

I cut my middle finger knuckle open about a month ago...I went straight to the clinic, I didn't need stitches but I had a tetanus shot. Anyways, the knuckle healed where the cut was but now I have a bump on top of the knuckle...it's swollen and it hurts alot...will it ever get any better? I saw my doc today and he said he didn't think it would ???

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
If there is an injury of the tendon also involved, then a surgical repair is needed for proper healing. If it is only a soft tissue injury then it will heal gradually.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
