Swollen Spot On Leg, Filled With Pus And Blood, Looks Like Scar Tissue, Hard. What Could Be This?
2 months ago my husband woke up with a swollen spot on his leg which looked like a spider bite... It became pus filled and even drained thick dark blood. It had a large red diameter. Now it is dark purple/red and flat. There is no pain and no ooxing. It has a somewhat shiny appearance...Luke scar tissue. I know that he squeezed it many times. It has not gotten any larger. It is about the size of a half dollar. When it first appeared it was sore and painful to the touch and became quite hard and tight. What could it be?
Hi, Welcome to HCM It seems that Your husband had bullous insect toxic dermatitis. Gradually it would be infected with bacteria. Pus might be formed. Initially it would be filled with pus and blood ,which was drained by him. Then it healed gradually. And became tough and thick lesion. It is hypertrophic scar. Tell him to consult dermatologist for confirming the diagnosis and perfect treatment.. Dermatologist might give intradermal steroid injection to reduce the toughness of the scar. .. Local application of silicon containing gel may be helpful.. Ok
