Swollen Upper Lip. Taken Ibuprofen Before Swelling. Any Thoughts?

My upper lip (mostly on the sides) have swollen. The same thing happened several weeks ago. I did not eat anything different then usual and haven't changed my soaps, etc.

I did take ibuprofen today approximately 2 hours prior to the swelling. I do not recall if I took Ibuprofen the last time this happened. Any thoughts?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
It seems you develop angioedema over lips. It could be drug related. However if you have taken ibuprofen in past also then it being the cause is unlikely. In most of the cases of angioedema no cause can be elicited.
Treatment requires intake of oral antihistamine like cetirizine.
Take care
