TTC, Have Regular Periods. Cramps, Light Pink Spotting, Light And Short Periods. Any Ideas?

My husband and I are ttc for the first time. I have extremly regular 28 day cycles i ovulate on day 14. I had cramping around 6-7 dpo. Starting at 9-10 dpo I began spotting. Light pink in color lasting 1-2 hours then it stopped. At 11 dpo it was a little heavier but still only lasted a few hours then stopped. Today I am 12 dpo I woke up to what I thought was the start of my period 2 days early but it wasn't as heavy as normal. It has gotten lighter throughout the day and now its almost gone. Any idea's as to what is going on? Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
The possible causes for your spotting are :
- Sometimes pain abdomen and spotting can be seen in post ovulatory period. As in part of mittlesmerz syndrome.
-During early pregnancy, sometimes spotting can be seen due to different causes like implantation etc.

- Intermenstrual spotting can be seen due to hormonal imbalance.
So, just by symptoms we cannot come to one conclusion regarding pregnancy.
Wait till your expected date of periods.
If you miss the periods, go for blood test for pregnancy once.
If test comes positive, consult gynecologist once and get examined.
Go for ultrasound, if needed go for progesterone supplementation with your doctor's advice.
Take care.
