Taken 2 Imodium Multi Symptom Tablets. Vomited The Tablets. Having High Temperature. Could This Be Flu?
my wife took 2 imodium multi symptom tablets about 20 minutes ago then just vomitted and the pills are visible in the vomit.is it ok to give her the iniotial dose again? Also she is not running an extremely high temperture but she has dizziness and painful body aches.Could this be the flu?we also bought catfish from the store yesterday?!?!
Gastroenteritis can be caused by virus or bacteria. If both of you consumed the catfish and you do not have any symptoms then it may not be related. The dizziness may be related to the fluid loss from the vomiting and diarrhoea.
The main part of treatment of diarrhoea and vomiting is maintaining enough fluid in the body. You may not want to give her another dose of the imodium because these agents are not recommended unless the course of diarrhoea is prolonged.
She should consider an oral rehydration fluid or salts to replace what she is losing. Because she is vomiting she should take small amounts at a time ( 1 to 3 tablespoons), it can be increased if she tolerates it.
Paracetamol will help with the joint pain and she should rest.
I hope this helps
