Taken Afdura For Enlarged Prostate. Reduced Urine Flow And Burning Sensation. Is Soliten Correct Medicine?
Dear Doctor,
I have ellarged prostae of size 49 gms, consulted urologist and he prescribed Cap Afdura for 3 months. After 3 month,
my urine flow and burning sensations have gone, since my prostate doesn't reduced, docto suggest to stop afdura.for a month. But unfortunately witin 3 days of stopping Afdura, my urine flow again reduing and burning sensation reappear. Now doctor suggested take one tablet named Soliten 5mg in the morning and Alfusin D at night after food. Kindly suggest whether i am in wright path, pl advice

Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have Benign Enlargement of Prostate the size of the prostate being 49 gms.
Afdura and is a Dutasterides which reduces the size of the prostate and improves urine flow.But this can not be permanent solution to your problem .
Please discuss with your urologist about exploring the feasibility of of endoscopic surgery like TURP trans urethral Resection of a prostate where enlarged prostrate is resected and makes the urethral passage free of obstruction and improves symptoms like frequency ,poor stream etc.and offers permanent cure.
Soliten is a drug that improves urgency of urination that is one of the symptoms of enlarged prostate.
