Taken Doxycycline For Lyme Disease. Have Low Back And Joint Pain. Help
I have been tested for lupus, MS & parkinsons... all negative. 5 years ago I tested positive for lyme and received 2 weeks of doxycycline. I've been sick off and on for the past 5 years, with increasing low back and joint pain. My neurologists suspect Lyme disease, as do I. My PCP does not believe there is such a thing as Chronic Lyme and my more recent tests show no lyme. I lost several weeks of work due to spasms causing excruciating pain which Neurontin has taken care of the spasms which where causing the pain. I live in Maine and want to find a lyme literate pcp anywhere in new England who will accept Harvard Pilgrim Ins in hopes of my getting treatment and getting my life back. I don't want to be disabled... I want to walk, hike, bike and kayak once again.

Based on the information it seems that your had lyme disease 5 yrs ago and had a treatment, currently you have severe spams for which you take neurontin.
The muscles spasm normally tend due to deficiency of calcium in blood, and their are two cause for it one is not taking milk products and other is issue with parathyroid glands, before digging in any other causes.
Advice:
1) Please have your parathyroid hormone checked .
2) start consuming milk and milk products as its rich in calcium.
