Hello, The main principal of treating diabetes is keeping your blood sugar levels in normal range by adopting all means which includes anti diabetic drugs, proper intake of food with adequate dietary control and regular aerobic exercises. If your blood sugar levels are normal,as it is now,you should keep continuing these drugs. The moment you try to reduce any medicine of your own, your blood sugar may get uncontrolled. However you must remember one thing, that gradually and gradually these oral anti diabetic drugs loose their efficacy and one has to switch to injectable insulin sooner or later because there is gradual destruction of beta cells of pancreas with passage of time. These beta cells are responsible for production of insulin under the effect of oral anti diabetic drugs like insulin secretagogues. Make sure that along with your blood sugar levels, your blood pressure and serum lipids are also under proper control. Thanks
