There are many antihypertensive medicines that can be taken instead of Cardiazem. Amlodipine, nifedipine, enalapril, lisinopril, ramipril, losartan, telmesartan, olmesartan, furosemide, hydrochlorthiazide, metoprolol, atenolol, clonidine, are a few options and I am sure you must not have tried all of these. In addition to medicines, you should also try other measures like cutting down salt from the diet, weight reduction and regular exercise. These will help control your blood pressure and will reduce your need for antihypertensive medicines.
Hope this helps you. Best wishes.
