Taking Celexa, Effexor. Does It Cause Severe Withdrawal Symptoms?
I am currently on Celexa 40mg and Effexor 75 mg and I have been on the Celexa for about a year and my doctor added the Effexor with hesitation. My question is I have been reading on the reviews of the withdrawals and side effects of the Effexor and I myself have some worry about adding this to the Celexa. She (my doctor) said that 40mg is pretty high for anxiety and depression. Are my concerns valid? Whats the percentage of clients that have bad withdrawals of this drug?
Less than 50% of patients experience any withdrawal symptoms when the tapering of the drug is done appropriately. This depends on the dose on which the patient is on and the duration of treatment.
Predicting the exact response to withdrawal would be fairly very difficult. Collaboration with your physician during this process is a key issue. As soon as he starts, you needs to monitor any changes in your body and report them to him as soon as possible.
Best regards,
