Taking Cipro For UTI. Have Pain. What Should I Do?

Hi There,

I had a UTI 2 weeks ago that I took meds for for 5 days. 2 days ago, the UTI was back and was much worse than before! I am taking cipro (day 2 of taking the pills, so 4 pills in all) and I still feel as terrible as when I first got my UTI. What should I do? I am so fustrated and am in so much pain!!!
Thank you!

Urologist 's  Response
hi,
Firstly you need to confirm your UTI by doing urine examination. Since your UTI has recurred get urine culture done as there is a possibility of infection being resistant to cipro. Infection should be treated with appropriate antibiotics according to culture sensitivity. You have not mentioned your age and sex. If infection is recurring frequently then you need to be evaluated with ultrasound of abdomen. Visit a urologist.
