Taking Simvastatin, Valsartan For BP, Cholesterol Problem, Noticing Dark Black Stools. What Is The Reason?
I am having problems now that I did not have before. I have been switched to a new blood pressure medication and cholesterol medication (Simvastatin and Valsartan). I am noticing dark almost black stools recently that have never occurred before. I know that these symptoms are not good.
This may not be related to the two drugs! Black stool means occult blood or iron supplement See your Internist / get yourself examined / basic investigation – like blood count and stool analysis - may be necessary... The treating doctor alone can suggest further based on his assessment of the situation.
Good luck Take care Wishing all well God bless
