Taking Spironolactone For Low Potassium. Taken Wrong Medicine. Do I Need To Go To Emergency Room?

I take spironolactone for low potassium. I usually take one at supper time which is 6:30. Just now I went to take my blood pressure meds and grabbed this instead. realized after swallowing that I took the wrong med. this will make my dose 100 mg. I am worried about how this is going to affect me. Do I need to go to the emergency room?

Hi

spironolactone is a potasium sparing diuretic ,used in wide variety of conditions.

it is a very safe medication with the average daily dose between 25 mg to 300 mg. so this has a wide margin of safety.

A single dose of 100 mg is not going to do any harm so just relax, but be careful in future as all drugs are not that safe.

Thanks.
