Taking Topiramate For Migraine. Taking Propanolol For PVCs. Fatigue. Any Idea?
Hi my name is kate im 21 I have been having migraines since November and my dr put me on topiramate to control. I was doing great on that with needing the occasional fiorcet for mild hedaches (I have dealt dealt with sinus headaches all my life). In the last 2 months I started having PVCs one every 3 mins. (I wore a holter moniter) to control, which helps but I can tell when im due for the next dose, I take propanolol. But in the last 3-4 months I would say I have been really fatigued and drained, I have never had issues with this and no matter how much sleep I get im exhausted when I awaken and its hard to make it through work then to come home and do my homework. The took blood last month and ruled I am not anemic and its not thiroid issues. Any idea?
Hello. For the data that you refer is necessary to rule out cardiac and pulmonary pathology.About cardiac pathology a possible diagnosis is exacerbation of PVC, it is advisable to perform an electrocardiogram. About pulmonary pathology, one of the adverse effects of propranolol is bronchial constriction with fatigue(more severe in asthmatics) ¿ Do you have a history of asthma or lung pathology?. Another option is fatigue secondary to use of topiramate high-dose ¿What is your dose of topiramate?. Go to your doctor to assess about these possible diagnoses and request,if he deems it appropriate, additional tests. I wish you good health. (If the answer has helped you, please indicate this)
