Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Benicar is Angiotensin Receptor Blocker
Toprol is Beta blocker
You can continue both.

Thiazide is a diuretic
If there is a reaction - no problem in changing to amlodipine
Amlodipine is a Calcium Channel Blocker / from a different class altogether.

You can also titrate the doses of previous medicines to maximum doses, before adding another.
Discuss with your treating doctor.

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck

General & Family Physician Dr. Michelle Gibson James's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Amlodipine is in a different family than hydrochlorothiazide and works in a different way to reduce blood pressure.
It is quite possible that because of the different mechanism of action and metabolism, that you would not have a reaction to it.
You can try it and call your doctor if you notice any evidence of a reaction

I hope this helps
