Taking Clonidine And Lisinopril. Any Drug Interactions?

I just got home from a weekend in the hospital, went off clonidine cold turkey, .15 mg 2x day. Cardiologist recommended going back on clonidine, split the dose in 3 and start on lisinopril Is there any drug reaction between the two? I have been on clonidine 18 - 20 yrs and it has quit working. I was thinking to wean off at .25/mg/day, .2 mg/day, .15, .10, .05 on each decrease about 2 weeks.

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

There are no known interaction between these medications.

Blood pressure readings may worsen as a person ages so that more medication may be needed for control.
Most persons need more than one medication for control of their blood pressure.

it is possible that you have reached the stage where you needed 2 medications working together.

If you do not wish to take 2 tablets then there are combination tablets available.

I hope this helps
