Recently my doctor has asked me to stop Pioglit 15 without telling me the reason. What are the side effects of consuming Pioglit 15 for long duration? And is there any withdrawl symtom of stopping Pioglit 15? My e-mail address is YYYY@YYYY
Hi pioglitazone is the drug belonging to the same group as rosiglitazone which has been banned in most parts of the world in the last 2-3 years because of its side effects on the heart. As such pioglitazone is not banned but lot of doctors are a bit apprehensive about using a medication when similar drug has been banned.
if your sugar levels are fine, I suggest you do not worry about taking pioglitazone, as there are multiple drugs available with the safer side effect profile than this.
