Teenager. Gagging After Food Intake. Diagnosed Heartburn. Mild Relief From Pepcid. Any Esophagal Issues?
Hi, I am 18 years old and i have issues with gagging after every meal i eat. I've went to the doctor about 2 months ago and I was diagnosed with heartburn. My doctor provided me Pepcid and it helped just for a few days. Couple weeks it came back and pepcid wasn't working like the first time i took it. Now i've been dealing with this for a month and a half. I usually have an appetite to eat but now, I eat less. Im afraid of developing esophagus issues later on in life.
hi there, you are suffering from peptic ulcer disease and it will get aggravated with more erratic food habit. You will need to be started on a course of antacids like modify your life style. It can also be caused due to stress if you are a type A personality and will need to do some kind of calming exercises to decrease your anxiety levels.Possiblilty of H.pylori infection should also be kept in mind and accordingly treated.Peptic ulcer disease does lead to malignancy but it is not very frequent so do not worry about that but rather concentrate on getting the present problem taken care of.
