Hello, dear doctor! I m Irene, I m from Russia. Nobody can find out what disease I got, doctors here just steal money out of me. I have some results from the vaginal swabbing analysys and want to ask you if these numbers can be considered as a norm.. Staphylococcus haemolyticus 10*5 Escherichia coli 10*8 Enterococcus faecalis 10*5 Thank you! All the best to you and your families.

It is a pleasure answering your questions. There are normal/natural bacterial vaginal flora mainly constituted of lactobacilli ( bacteria that produce acid that help to fight against presence of other pathogenic bacteria in the vagina). These results show clearly that they are some bacteria that are abnormally found in your vagina that will probably be responsible for vaginitis or bacterial vaginosis ( provided you are presenting with symptoms). The germs that are present in your smear are normally found in the rectum, hence their presence here will require treatment. A course of antibiotics such as metronidazole is well indicated to eradicate these germs.
Hope this helps
