There Is No Visible Heartbeat Of Baby In 9th Week Of Pregnancy Scan. Is It Dangerous?

hi doctor i am a 9th week of pregnancy.but in scan there is not visible heartbeat of baby.doctor said visit again after 2 weeks.is it dangerous??.she said it is early pregnancy we will wait some more 2 weeks.but we are very much worried.plz claried my question.

Hello and welcome to HCM,     
I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.
I understand the problem, however there are only 2 possibilities:
1. The pregnancy was delayed as ovulation was delayed. It happens sometimes, so in this case the baby is smaller than expected. So a repeat scan after 2 weeks will show that the baby has grown by 2 weeks and also the heart beat.

2. It is a missed abortion: meaning the baby is no longer alive. It is very common and may occur due to infections, some maternal conditions like thyroid or inherent abnormalities in the baby.

So as of now, just wait for 2 weeks, if the next report is Ok, then no worries. If the next report is similar to this then a curettage procedure will be needed. Please do not worry, you will know after 2 weeks. Until then take microgest capsules and folic acid tablets to help growth of the baby.
