Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist, Ravi Ranganathan's Response
it is possible that you strained your adductor muscle which has to be flexible enough and also warmed up before you do a split. now that you have already injured the muscle. the first steps would be following the RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation}. if you have cold packs at home place them on the areas of pain up to ten minutes every two hours, applying a compression bandage around the most tender area, and elevate the leg while lying down with a pillow or two to avoid swelling. If the painful areas are becoming swollen not helped by the above procedures, you will have to see a doctor to find out the extent of damage and treatment accordingly.
