Throat Pain, Stomach Problem, Feeling Of Pressure In Head, Muscle Pain

Hi, I woke up in the middle of the night not being able to swallow, and I felt so sick to my stomach. I went back to sleep and when I woke up later on it was worse. Only one side of my throat hurts when I swallow, my head kinda feels like it has a lot of pressure and some of my muscles ache. I have no clue what's wrong with me.

Hi ! Good morning. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

With your history, most likely you developed a throat infection, and as is usual with any kind of infection, it has resulted in fever which has caused your muscles to ache. Also throat infection is known to cause abdominal pain as well, and you can go for an anti spasmodic drug in case of much intensity of the pain.

If I were your physician, I would prescribe you some decongestant, an anti inflammatory, an anti allergic and a local antiseptic gargles or warm saline gargles. If this does not solve your problem, and it persists/increases in intensity, then I would go for a throat culture/sensitivity test and start a proper antibiotic based on its report. By any chance if this does not solve your problem, I would refer you to an ENT specialist of your area.

I am sure this information will help you in discussing with your family physician in further management of your problem. Thanks for choosing health care magic for your health query. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
