Throat Started Burning While Taking Steam Treatment For Cough. Why?
Hi, my mom thinks I have walking pneumonia and I'm going to the doctor tomorrow but I called the nurse hotline tonight to see if there was anything I could do to relieve the coughing (I have asthma so this is especiall problematic). The nurse told me to do a steam treatment so I sat in my bathroom with the hot water on. When it began to get steamy, my throat started burning. Why? And should I continue to sit in the steam?
Hello, you have asthma and coughing ,,and burning sensation on steam inhalation. If you have burning sensation on steam inhalation then stop doing that. Instead you can have coffee not too hot, as coffee causes dilatation / widening of airways , it is home treatment for asthma. Coughing may also improve. Take deep breaths and slowly, prevent yourself from cool breeze. And then consult a doctor.
